I have this crappy four track recorder in my attic. An old microphone worth shit and my sunburst LesPaul copy. Inspired by Black Cat Music’s October November album I figured, my two chord magic could actually happen for once. It didn’t but BCM’s garage punk does. Well, partly.
One part garage (classic) rock revisited, another part rambling punkrock without ever exploding all the way. Nope, BCM keep it on track. Too bad. Because in order to keep up with all the minimalistic garage/punk/rock bands out there these days, you’ll have to expose all you’ve got. | |
Singer Brady gives it all he’s got but if the songs just keep pushing the edge instead of crossing it, he can keep trying all he wants.
Does that make October November an album for sale of the week. No it doesn’t, tracks like “The Bridal Veil”, “The Suicide Party” and “The Jet Trash” rumble, rattle and churn just like the doctor ordered. With a fatter, bigger production this could have been one hell of a great album. Damn, I it hate when that happens. Where are all you major record companies now, with all your Jets Stroking the White Stripes? (Marc) |
