Code Red exists of 3 members from Bloodshot, Backstabbers, and Length Of Time/Angel Crew (Ross). So, this gives you an idea what kind of music you can expect: Aggressive metalcore with a lot of hardcore influences. Not like Integrity or Born From Pain, but more in the Hatebreed and Pro Pain corner. Especially Pro Pain comes to mind while listening to this effort.

First Strike brings nothing really new. But the music they bring, they bring with a shit-load of energy and enthusiasm. While a lot of bands from the Netherlands and Belgium play old school hardcore nowadays (Justice, Icepick, Downslide, No Turning Back, Killtraitors), Code Red goes into the other direction.

Fucked up metalcore.

The reason why I dig this album, is that it has a down-to-earth atmosphere, a huge honesty (it is still possible!), compare it to Marat Safin’s tennis: Honest yet brutal shit (never thought I would make this kind of stupid comparison). Favourite songs? “We Can’t Be Beaten”, “No Regrets/No Shame” (the beginning of that song will surely make you do some mosh moves in your bedroom).
