Hearse has returned! Their highly anticipated debut cd Dominion Reptillian has a follow up now, called Armaggedon Mon Amour. Their debut was full of good death/black metal with John Liiva on vocals (ex-Arch Enemy). Another proof that some musicians won’t slip into a depression after getting thrown out of a popular band, they start a new band with music that can easily match their former band.
The album’s opener “Mountain of Solar Eclipse” is a perfect example of what this cd stands for. High quality death metal with some über-riffs. John Liiva just shouts out his anti-religion lyrics, that would fit nicely in any black metal song. I read a review about this album in which the reviewer said the production isn`t good. | |
Don`t believe that shit. The production is good. Surely better than most of the death metal cd`s that I get.
Armageddon Mon Amour is a hybrid of death metal, black influences, stoner influences and a portion Entombed. This cd is so fucking addictable it’s the perfect metal cd for the summer. Tracks like “The Crops Of Waste”, “Turncoat” and “Cambodia” (cool vocal work!) are my favourites. This is the second of Karmageddon Media this month, after Silent Scythe. The label garantees quality all the way and more important: metal! With Hearse in the premier league.
