Slumlords is an all star band, with members of Jeff, Day of Mournign, Comming’ Correct, Wake up Cold and Next Step up. There. A little part of NYHC history.

They decided to combine their thoughts and write an effort that will throw the listener back in the 80’s (When street punk and oi was pretty popular). This album is full of Oi/Punk/Hardcore songs with some funny lyrics. At least, funny lyrics, they’re probably supposed to be funny, but I disagree with that. Their goal was to sing about real life situations. Well ok, honest, but not everyone’s piece of cake.

Personally, this style of hardcore isn’t my favourite, but I don’t mind listening to it with some beers and friends. And I think that is mainly why this cd is made. Listen to this cd and you’ll probably get the same feeling. They don’t want anything, they just give something. And that’s also its quality. But, I have to say: I rather hear a new record from singer Jeff with his Breakdown. Nevertheless this will feed the hunger for some months, and this will fill the hearts of hardcore/oi/beer fans.
