After their debut in July 2003, Forever Is Forgotten re-issued their out of print EP Dying Beautiful, it wasn’t available in stores before. A great opportunity to get your hands on this EP which is full of cool technical hardcore.
There are so many bands out there these days making technical hardcore. I get the feeling that this ‘new’ genre is turning into what nu-metal was a few years ago.
In a few years only bands with true quality will survive (think of Everytime I Die, Dillinger Escape Plan, From Autumn To Ashes, The End and newcomers Silence The Epilogue).
Forever Is Forgotten has a spot on that list as well.
Using influences from death metal (riffs), hardcore (voice) and metal, Forever Is Forgotten is not original. | |
But it’s all in the way they do it. The band adds quality in details.
Like the bridge in “Destroying A Lifetime Of Innocence” (listen to it on your headphone) or the addictable riff in “Fallen For”. The tiny production effects, they really add something.
There are also 2 live tracks on this record. Not as impressive as the studio tracks, the vocalist seems to have some problems but I can imagine he’s jumpin’ his way around stage and is making quite some miles per gig. In short, I recommend this EP to all fans of ‘new school hardcore’.
