“A Campingflight To Lowlands Paradise 2003" is a double DVD that features over 260 minutes of video material. Disc one is filled with thirty six songs by as many different bands. One thing noticeable is the fact that few of the main acts of the festival make their appearance. This is probably due to copyright, etc. The footage on the disc is of high quality, the pictures as well as the sound. The great diversity of the festival program is also very well expressed with performances of Moloko, Kamagurka, The Levellers, Band Zonder Banaan and Autumn. The only thing I would like to have seen different is the position of Dolf Jansen on the play list.

His poetry should have been on the end of the disc, together with the magnificent comedy performance of Boom Chicago, a highlight of the DVD. DVD two features some acoustic 3voor12 Sessions for radio broadcast, interviews with about ten bands, backstage footage and some other stuff. Usually I find interviews very boring but the central theme: how do bands experience summer festivals, was quit interesting. The question how often will you view this release is not that appropriate because the DVD is best considered as a nice impression of the festival as well as a nice teaser for the upcoming edition of Lowlands.
