A couple of weeks ago I received a two minute promo disc of the up coming Taxe live DVD, a real teaser! Today the single of these boys hit my cd-player. The one track promo “Alive And Dangerous” is most promising for the album and live DVD. The choice for this track as the single is rather strange though. Front man Martijn, known from his appearance on the Dutch TV show Starmaker, already gets associated with John Bon Jovi all the time. The song “Alive And Dangerous” is in fact Bon Jovi and nothing but Bon Jovi.

There’s not much wrong with that in principle, but I fear that Taxe might not get the right attention with this single and will be marked as a Bon Jovi look alike (In fact my own review confirms this fear). This is a pity because I’m most certain that there are a lot of fine songs on the upcoming album and the live DVD that sound less like the bands biggest inspiration. The single made me even more curious about the album and the DVD, but I find the choice of the single track very poor.
