Jesus Christ, this is really not my kind of music. What a bunch of crap. Aeternitas from Lübeck, Germany recently released their second album, La Danse Macabre and claim to mix modern gothic metal with classical (sorry, can’t find the classical parts), electronic (yeah, if you like DJ Tiësto) and theatrical influences. It is clear that Aeternitas are influenced by a couple of bands. The most obvious comparison is Rammstein. In my opinion the guitars sound almost the same as the guitars in Rammstein.

Then there’s the fact that the vocals are in German, which leads to the second comparison with Rammstein. I think Moonspell and Crematory have also been of influence on this band. I can’t help it, but this band does not, I repeat, does not appeal to me. Personally I think it is very easy to make this kind of music, especially in a time where gothic metal rules the charts and the metal scene.
