Apart from the ‘judges’ (as they like to call themselves) tendancy to sound generic and lifeless at times, this album does have a few good things going for it. A nice combination of influences are present, with flashes of grind and thrash thrown into the frey. The music is played tightly and with flair and a quick glance at the promo confirms my suspicions; these boys have been around since 1989 (albeit with a major lineup change between 97-2000).

Maybe it’s my CD player´s fault, but I think the production lets this Dutch outfit down the most. Guitars sound really thin, crisp and timid. As if the studio was built under an old-folks home and they couldnt disturb the peace for fear of aged retrebution.

The drums, although techically top notch, sounds so clean its as if they’re using a drum computer. Fuck it dudes, this is death metal you play, do as Spinal Tap and turn your amps to level 11! On the other hand, one thing that’s spot on are the vocals, man this dude can growl. Almost making the microphone redundant with coherant yet rumbling roars. All in all a listenable effort from this Dutch 4-piece. Don`t expect any ground breaking new stuff to emerge from the album but don’t expect to be put to sleep by it either!
