Rough ‘n Tumble is a band from the Netherlands and the music they make is real old school 60’s, 70’s rock ‘n roll. This is their second album and their first live album. The album was recorded at the “Podium Café Boerderij” which means “Stage Bar Farm”.

While listening to this album you think you are really in Texas, you can smell the scent of beer and sweat and that’s what this kind of music is about. It is not innovating but just some old fashioned rock and roll mixed with bleus.
The singer, Martin, really has the voice for this kind of music, a voice who sounds like smoking too much and drinking a lot of whiskey everyday. The album begins with the song “Doublecrossed” and “Rough ‘N Tumble” directly give you the small bar and beer effect I mentioned before. All the songs are played almost without mistakes. There is one cover on the album and that’s C’mon everybody written by Jerry Capehart and Eddie Cochran; this songs is the only one that’s is not played very well, that’s pity.

Between the songs sometimes you hear: “thanks” and at this point you can imagine the guy with a smile on his face. The last word he said on the album are: “we nemen effe een biertje”, which means “we`re gonna grab a beer”.
This live album is mixed and mastered by Bram Bol and he did a great job. The sound is great, mostly this kind of live albums are really bad mixed. So Bram Bol did a great job. The artwork of the album is not really great, but what do you expect, it is an self distributed album.
Normally I only want to hear this kind of music only in a small bar with a lot of beer, nut Rough ‘N Tumble brings the bar in my home with this album.
