A breath of fresh air, this third album of Seattle quartet The Briefs. Melodic punk taking you back to 1977. These guys were on the brink of a major record deal that fell through. Thank god. Not for the band’s possible success, but for the idea that another corporate monster would perhaps set the next punk trend with marketing plots.

Sex Objects doesn’t need a big mouth or aggressive chords to make an impact.

The band keeps it simple, straightforward but most of all melodic. And best of all: there’s no hype involved. This is passionate, honest and most of all good punk with lyrics reaching out to politics as well as humour. A very effective track list taking away any doubt whether this type of punk is almost 30 years too late or not. It’s not. Sex Objects sounds fresh and full of spirit.
