After hearing the first seconds of the first track, it was immediately clear from which country Incapacity hails. This typical guitarsound and these riffs can only be from Sweeden, and after reading the bio I found out that this was indeed the case. These guys are veterans of the Swedish death and black metal scene, featuring ex-members of legendary names such as Edge Of Sanity, Marduk, Infestdead, Opthalamia and Pan-Thy-Monium who decided to form an old school Swedish death/thrash metal band in 2002.
Incapacity cannot be likened to other “all-star bands” like Bloodbath and Ribspreader because this is not just a side-project but a real band. | |
The sound is also slightly different; instead of being retro all the way, Incapacity have found their style in playing a combination of the aforementioned old school death metal and modern thrash metal. This works remarkably well, the groove of old school death metal is being spiced up by the thrash influences and fans of both genres will find something they’ll like on this release.
Metal Blade once again recognized true talent and has to be praised for releasing yet another good album.
