The last few years bands have put more effort in their demo-releases witch is a good progression. Image Treason is one of those bands. ‘The railview EP’ has got a pretty nice production and sounds really good for a demo. Well what can I tell you about this Dutch band with international members (Uruguay, Indonesia) as well as Dutch members? Image Treason from Amsterdam mixes hardcore, and metal elements as we see more bands do these days. ‘Image Treason’ doesn’t really follow the Swedish metal flow mixed up with a hardcore twist as lots of bands are doing the last couple of years. No, they’re using melodic-chords, groovy rhythms, intense outbursts and some chaotic parts. Besides that they got this dark side combined with hard breakdowns, this is probably why I mentioned the metal(core) in their music. Don’t expect this EP to be purely hardcore or metal. They got quite a lot of nu-metal influences as well. As I said before ‘Image Treason’ is melodic, uses heavy breakdowns and intense outbursts.

I can hear influences from bands like Poison The Well, Deftones and Twelve Tribes in their music. I am pretty positive about this demo EP, the songs are performed well, and have got a good structure, the musicians seem to know what they’re doing and the vocals are diverse. But I don’t know why they felt the need to put an intro in front of a demo recording, it fits with the music but I would have liked to hear another song instead. Keep the intro’s for full-length albums I say. The railview EP was recorded in ‘The source studios’ by Oscar Bor (La Mala Leche and Agresion) and mastered by Pablo Minoll (ex-Laberinto) in the ‘GS recording studios’. A good EP for people who are open minded about mixing metalcore/hardcore and nu-metal. Curious? Check out their website http://www.imagetreason.com.
