Holy shit, this kicks ass! The self titled debut album of this Catalonian band really hits you in the face. Aggressively played death metal mixed with a bit of black metal and some heavy metal solos. I didn’t know Spanish people could rock like this!

Although the death metal scene is pretty crowded, sometimes new bands manage to create and release an album that makes you frown in curiosity. And that is definitely the case with Vidres A La Sang. The band is inspired by bands like Aeternus, Immortal and Morbid Angel. But unlike most death and black metal bands Vidres A La Sang have their lyrics in Catalonian instead of English, which adds an extra dimension.

Lyrically the band deals with poems of recently defunct Catalonian poet Miquel Martí I Pol.

The band was formed in 2002 and in 2003 they recorded this album. In 2004 they released it in a self-financed way. Shortly after, the band was picked up by Xtreem Music and the label re-released the album. This was good, because of the connections and the promotional advantages. The production of this debut album is actually pretty good. All instruments are mixed in great and the vocals are stunning. A must have for lovers of extreme music!
