Sick and tired of the usual stuff in your cd player? You know. Riff, melody, verse, chorus, verse, chorus, bridge, repeat, end. If so, there is hope.
Of course you have Dillinger Escape Plan , Meshuggah, Relevant Few and A Life Once Lost etc. But there is a new band that fits perfectly in that list. The band is called Tetsuo and they are very brutal and dangerous.
Formed in 1999 under the name Issue One they first played hardcore. After some line up changes they decided to switch the style from hardcore to mathcore/metal.
That means: unusual structures, strange drum patterns, intelligent guitar riffs, strange beats etc. | |
Music that makes it an advantage to listen to.
This kind of music can only be judged after you have listened it many times. Every time you discover new things and I can only encourage that. This is a pretty daring EP, it’s hard to listen to, but it is intriguing music. There is a fine balance between jazz and metal in songs like “Give The Man A Towel” and “Thick Norwegian Accent” (well, those are some song titles you can come home with).
The 6 songs on this EP only make me long for more. This is a band that really adds something to the current music industry. (Friso) |
