Infusing their hard rock infrastructure with jazz-driven sensibilities, the mighty Queensryche continues their evolution for twenty years now. That evolution stood center stage at Seattle`s Moore Theater July 27 and 28, 2001. The band stripped their music to the bare essentials, delivering the history of their band with a two night, 29 song voyage through the band`s legacy. "Live Evolution" is the documentation of these two shows. The very well produced album is divided into four suites and the EP/Warning/Rage suite is the first one. With songs like "Walk In The Shadows", "The Lady Wore Black" and "Queen Of The Reich" it`s a reflection of the early days. | |
The Mindcrime suite is entirely dedicated to their famous "Operation Mindcrime" record. The Empire/Promised Land suite shows us the early nineties music like "Silent Lucidity" and "Another Rainy Night", while the HITNF/Q2K suite contains six songs from the latest releases like "Breakdown" and "The Right Side Of My Mind". This "Live Evolution" is a very impressive retrospective about a band who have left and still are leaving their mark on music. (Johan) |
