Two popular Metalcore bands united on one disc. Both delivering 5 songs.
First Under Siege. I saw them Live with Zao a few weeks ago but they did not impress me live. The breakdowns just weren’t angry enough and unmoshable, but on this cd it is different.
The five songs have a perfect sound and it sounds more brutal, the breakdowns are sounding brutal and still heavy, the drums sound compact, the guitars compliment the song, only the bass should have sounded harder in the mix.
The good thing about these five songs are definitely the production. It has a compact sound, which makes listening more enjoyable. What mightirritate some people is the accent of singer Henning. The guitar lines sometimes sound too ‘german’, but you can look through that. For fans of Caliban and Unearth, Under siege is an interesting band. | |
Still not on that level, but they’re on the way with this EP.
A Traitor Like Judas also delivers five songs and sound more aggressive than Under Siege. Faster and more aggressive, but that does not mean better. The Caliban Influences are even more present on these songs, including the German Accent.
A traitor like judas uses also more Swedish Influences (like almost every metalcore band nowadays) and cause of that you sometimes can compare them with The Agony Scene or Heaven Shall Burn.
I am curious how they will bring this material live, cause that’s what makes or break these kind of bands: the intensity live on stage. I look forward to seeing them live, in the meantime, Ill enjoy these 10 songs. (Friso) |
