Normally I avoid soundtracks like the proverbial plague. The last soundtrack I owned or listened to was the OST of The Crow, 10 years ago (my god, beginning to feel the throes of ageing!)
So half arsed, I took a glimpse of what they had scraped together as a feeble excuse for a soundtrack... and lo and behold the album is rife with talent! Slipknot, Killswitch Engage, Rammstein, Deftones and Cradle Of Filth are but a selection of what’s on offer, with new and old music being offered. Deftones do a cover of Duran Duran’s “The Chauffeur” while Cradle Of Filth do “Nymphetamine” from the latest release of the same name.
Fans of all ilk will appreciate this one, even music that I didn’t think I would listen to. | |
Five years ago you couldn’t get me listening to The Cure for love nor money, but I gave them a chance and had a listen to their song “Us Or Them” and it’s one of my favourite songs on the album now! I mean, with Cradle Of Filth and The Cure on the same album, an eyebrow raiser if there ever was one.
So between the variety of music on offer and the quantity this is definitely one album not to be sniffed at, even if it is a soundtrack! Over an hour of quality music these days on one CD is rare so don’t waste this opportunity. (Mark) |
