Zauce, the fresh assault of nu-metal from Scandanavia. That’s if the promo flyer is to be believed (a really well presented one actually, laminated and all!). Luckily yours truly never believes a word they say! They rant and rave about the selling potential (a very bad sign already) that the American metal scene had better watch out...

Well they’re gonna be a long time waiting. If these Norsemen think they can piss beside their American counterparts they’re sorely mistaken. Musically it’s good, as in played well, but playing well is easy when everything is standard. Riffs are standard, vocals are safe, middle of the road and uninspiring and the production is so so clean you can smell polish off the CD.

It just sounds too purpose built for radio.

The vocalist sounds like that little shite from Linkin Park and but even that little shite from Linkin Park can put some feeling and depth into his singing, part of track 8 “My Love” before the outro builds up to this plateaux only to be ruined by the tameness of the vocalist.

Pity, because the flyer was correct on one thing, there is a potential for a Nu metal band to conquer Europe, just don’t leave it up to these guys.
