Club Decease is a pretty strange band in my opinion. This one cannot be labelled easily and the band’s fixation with death is quite extraordinary. Focusing on the music, I don’t want to get into the lyrics since they will probably disturb me, I must say that Club Decease surprised me with their powerful rock since it’s less commercial than the popular stuff you hear in the international rock scene. This is mainly due to the use of noise and the somewhat rough production and of course the death thing. The vocal melodies are a little bit old-fashion eighties, but therefore quite catchy. Lead singer Dobson isn’t the best vocalist in the world but his sound is absolutely very characteristic.

Too bad he has slight troubles reaching the higher notes during the heavier parts on the album. Not only the vocals, but also the keyboards are heavily eighties influenced. Personally I love the way in which these ‘outdated’ vocals and keys are combined with modern heavy rock bass, drums and guitar. This way Club Decease sounds familiar and innovative at the same time. One remarkable track is the distorted “Rain Falls”. Very original but slightly sickening hearing this one for the first time. Most songs are of standard quality. There are no real weak tracks on the album but I can’t say that there are absolute highlights on it either.
