Another year, another Roadrage DVD. On last year’s edition there were some older songs from older Roadrunner bands like Fear Factory, Life Of Agony and Machine Head. Fear Factory and Machine Head are represented on the new Roadrage DVD, but those two bands are the only ‘older’ bands. The rest is pretty new to me (E-Town Concrete, Every Time I Die, Chimaira, 36 Crazyfits’) and there are some bands that I’ve never heard of (From Autumn To Ashes, 40 Below Summer, To My Surprise).
The videos are all of the bands latest albums and most of the videos are to be seen on the national music stations. So, in my opinion it’s not really exiting stuff what’s being presented. Also, there is no bonus material on the DVD. | |
You can only watch the videos. But then again, this DVD only costs EUR 10,-.
After watching this DVD a couple of times I asked myself what the plans of Roadrunner are. They used to have a great variety of bands of different genres (Deicide, Fear Factory, Madball, Biohazard, Type O Negative, Life Of Agony, Obituary, Sepultura). Most of the bands that are on this DVD share almost the same sound. Of course, there is always an exception (Murderdolls or Dirty Americans), but bands like Red Tape, Scarlet or Twelve Tribes sound all the same to me. I don’t say that it’s garbage, but there’s no variation on this DVD. And that’s a shame. (Lars) |
