Once again it’s clear that there seems to be a revival of old school death metal going on in Sweden. Numerous new and old bands are releasing cd upon cd of this typical Swedish death metal style. Paganizer contributes to this tidal wave by releasing their fifth album No Divine Rapture.

With so many releases, there are for sure some unnecessary releases but, to be honest, I haven’t heard any of them yet. Paganizer is no exception to this rule as they deliver their fifth full length which is undeniably a strong album.

Vocalist Rogga is also active in Ribspreader, along with Dan Swano, which released their debut “Bolted To The Cross” earlier this year but Paganizer will stay his main band.

Compared to Ribspreader, Paganizer is more up-tempo and thrashier but still the undeniable Swedish groove is audible. Tracks like “No Divine Rapture”, “Nailed Forever” and “On Your Knees” display their love for the old school death metal style and this matched with quality song writing results in a very strong album that should attract any diehard death metal fan.
