Now this album is a good one to listen to. Don’t get me wrong, their previous albums were good too. This one is just way better. Mob Rules kicks of with “Black Rain” which sounds strong and pounding yet not too much. The song flows into a beautiful chorus which makes you want to sing along. This band knows how to make a good song, knows how to have enough melody and not too much pounding power metal. Good job on the bass and Klaus Dirks will be known for his vocals if he isn’t already. I bet any heavy or power metal band would want him. I’m certain any power metal fan would like Among The Gods.

”Follow-up” is another great track. Happy drums like Edguy, not too happy, once again they know the perfect border.

Some keyboards which are unnecessary but not disturbing either. The fourth track is something different; it’s sad but sweet at the same time. It’s slow but not boring.

This is what Mob Rules do, they know what they want to do, they know how to do it and they produced a great album to be proud of! Even though I’m not a big power metal fan myself, this is a fine album, whether it’s leaning towards power or not. Putting this band in a box is wrong. Every song, every album varies so much I couldn’t label them. But then, who wants labels if you can just be sure to get a good album?
