Already the 11th release since the first album “Heavy Metal Breakdown” (from 1984!), Grave Digger made an new “masterpiece” (as the promo leaflet calls it). YEAH RIGHT! After the first tune one is hopeful for solid heavy metal and yes it is solid heavy metal: Hooray!! Not! Because when you hear the first attempts of front man Chris Boltendahl to sing, than one has to try really hard not to die from laughing. He has probably dug to many graves and therefore has sand between his teeth, preventing him from singing properly. Or maybe he has arisen from his grave and is trying to sing as a living corpse with maggots in his throat. When does the hurting stop; stop singing, please! So, and now about the music.

Solid heavy metal of average quality with some highlights in track 5: “Spirits Of The Dead” and track 6: “The House” that stick out from the rest. With a proper singer this album would probably be rated higher, but more than 7 out of 10 points can not be given. To bad: they don’t have a proper heavy metal singer so 5 out of 10 points at best. When visiting a record shop listen to it, just to hear the beautiful vocals, then take your time to catch a breath from laughing before buying a better album: Iron Maiden for instance. My advice to Chris is to do the same and really study on the vocals of Bruce Dickinson and see a doctor for his throat.
