Frankly speaking, when I first took a look at the Small Jackets` CD cover, I felt kind of annoyed that I probably had to review another stupid happy grill band... Instead, the debut release by this Italian group (formed in 2000) turned out offering rather catchy rock’n’roll! The 9 tracks are quite simple and unpretentious in construction; what they offer is plain riffs adorned with awesome guitar leads and vocals that, although shining with nothing that specific, fit the overall picture just fine.

In short, Play At High Level is a title that portrays the vibe of this release very well, so get a six pack or ten, roll some pot and submerge into the music of Small Jackets!
