Cliteater was born in the sick mind of two members of the death/grind metal band Grobar who had too much spare time and decided to make even more brutal music. Joost from Inhume was invited to sing and he responded positively. In the beginning, they used a drum computer (Mortician anyone?) but after releasing a demo they decided to find a human drummer to be able to play live. This drummer was found in the person of Maurice (ex-Fleshbrigrade, Infekt) and Cliteater has since shared the stage with acts like Aborted, Rompeprop, Cock And Ball Torture, Last Days Of Humanity and the likes.

In 2003 a full length was released with the lovely title Clit ‘Em All on Dismemberment Records/Bleedin’ Hemorrhoid Records. Because the whole pressing of 250 copies was sold out within a week and the labels didn’t have the money to press more copies, Cliteater decided to sign with Restrain Records in order to get Clit ‘Em All re-released.

The music of Cliteater lies in the region of the aforementioned Mortician, Gut and because of singer Joost, Inhume. Joost has a very distinctive voice and his use of the famous toilet grunt and the insane-piggy-scream is one of the strong points of Cliteater. Other strong points are the groovy tracks, the cool samples and the gory artwork. So, to be short, there’s nothing new or innovative about Cliteater but this never was the intention in the first place. If you’re looking for some good death/gore/grind this is the band you want.

Look out for the next album entitled Eat Clit Or Die to be released in March on Restrain Records.
