A dark magician is staring at you from the record cover. Songs about magic and mythology dressed in what they call Doom Blues themselves. This power trio from Sweden has indeed a heavy Kyuss-like sound, but the song structures remind me of bands like Cream.
The production of this album has been done by Fred Estby (Entombed/Hellacopters), and he has done a hell of a job. Heavy and still transparent, adding to the identity of the songs. Dragging heavy songs with a lot of tension, and beautiful blues orientated guitar work. | |
Very good diversion in full production, and slowing down with the “less is more” concept.
All in all a good debut and stoner lovers who like it a bit different should listen to this. Emotion in the songs seems to be very important, this can be a strong point on a stage. Also being a trio is giving a lot of flexibility live, but having just one guitar can be vulnerable for this band. I’m curious about their live performance…
