This review is a little bit too late, but due to my busy time schedule I wasn’t able to write a review earlier.
Since The Day is a german Metalcore band. Altough, a metal band with hardcore influences.
Think of Heaven Shall Burn and think of Heaven Shall Burn again, mix it with a little bit of Morning Again and there you go: Since The Day in a nutshell.
The cd opens with a riff that would not do wrong on a death metal record. A riff that directly attracts attention and opens a can of energy and aggression which is mostly the result of the vocals and a breakdown part.
The second song shows a different side of Since The Day. | |
Solos, clean vocals (still mixed with the screams), but it sometimes reminds me of Strapping Young Lad. This makes a distinction between other bands in this genre. Since The Day are by far not original, but try to mix some elements in the music that don’t make the music boring and make you think ‘ow another band that jumps on the metalcore bandwagon’.
I said it before: Metalcore is becoming popular in Germany with bands like Destiny, Heaven Shall Burn, Caliban and Machinemadegod. Maybe this band can gain some popularity in this particular scene. (Friso) |
