After the success of Drum Nation Volume One, Magna Carta brings you … Volume Two. This time the compilation features 13 tracks from the Magna Carta vaults, where with Volume One, drummers were given free creative reign in writing new compositions. This means that all of the tracks on the new release have been released before. I’m generally not a big fan of compilations of instrumental albums, but the combination works out quite well. It’s incredible to hear all the diversity in drumming, listening to the specific touches of all the excellent drummers.

To give you an impression of the high level of drumming, the only thing I have to do is mention some of the names featured on the album; Mike Portnoy, Terry Bozzio, Rod Morgenstein and Simon Phillips. All stand for quality and passionate drumming. The release is primarily focused on reaching the drummer community, but the quality of song writing is of such high quality that it will be appealing to non-drummers as well.
