I have seen Bullseye Powerrock on a local festival a couple of months ago and I must admit that the band made quite an appearance there. So when the February releases were distributed among our writers I offered to review the new Bullseye Powerrock album. For those of you who don’t have any idea of their music, just based on the name of the band, I could add a couple of song titles: “Pulverize”, “Another Deathride”, “The Wages Of Sin” and “Broken & Paralized” should give you a good idea of the content of this album.

Most of the songs are plain and straight power rock. There is the occasional melody and rare guitar solo but the power rhythms prevails throughout the entire album. Despite the emphasis on the straight on power rock, there is enough variation to make Pulverize an interesting release. A track like “The Wages Of Sin” with unorthodox vocal melodies could even be considered experimental in the Bullseye Powerrock philosophy. In my opinion it’s even one of the better tracks on the album.
