Karbo is a band that has a lot of talent, but somehow it doesn’t get recognized by the masses. They’ve always received good reviews, but due to line up changes and not too many gigs they are still working in the underground. Maybe this demo can change that situation.

Shards Of Glass is their third demo and compared to Leech it is way more metal. There is a new singer Danny and his voice reminds me of the voice of Phil Anselmo. If you listen to Shards Of Glass, you’ll know what I mean; a typical Anselmo tic.

The metalcore influences, which were present on earlier material, are shoved into the background. And it works: it seems like the band imposed no restrictions on themselves. The music is enthusiastically played, with energy and it looks they stiffly continue... This can only be appreciated. Maybe this year Karbo will gain some more success with gigs like Noordschok (with Dillinger Escape Plan etc.). I stay interested.
