Compilation albums are always nice to review; you don’t have to rate them and you can talk about everything and nothing. This time I have to make up a nice little story about Wacken Open Air.

I guess by now Wacken Open Air is the biggest metal festival on this planet. Well, at least after Dynamo Open Air was almost bankrupt and never regained its status. Every year Wacken has a great line-up and the festival has an enormous diversity of bands.

Last year’s Armageddon Over Wacken album contained two CDs, this year there’s an extra disc The reason to do so was because of the diversity of bands.

There’s a thrash/black/death, a power/traditional and an underground disc (unfortunately my promo contained only two CDs); almost the same as the stages at Wacken Open Air.

With this album you get a good view of the quality of most of the bands, while some of the bands really suck. But hey, that’s the risk of a festival right? This triple disc is great for the people who’ve been to Wacken, for the memories that is. But for the people who haven’t been there, it’s a nice live album with a great diversity of bands.
