For me The Unborn is the first encounter with Mors Principium Est. But according to the promotional flyer they’ve been around for a while now. The music on their first album was described as a mixture of Soilwork, At The Gates, Dark Tranquillity and Children Of Bodom (you know, the ‘standard’ Scandinavian bands to be compared with).
The new album has much more of an own sound. Mors Principium Est added modern elements (supporting keyboard parts) and some very surprising rhythmical structures which remind of Fear Factory. | |
The reason why The Unborn has such a lovely sound is the Tico Tico Studio in Finland, where the album is recorded. The final touch (the mastering of the album) was done at Finnvox (also in Finland). Oh and keep an eye out for the limited edition digipack, it has two bonus tracks; “Blood Of Heroes” (by Megadeth) and “No More”. (Lars) |
