A faint sound was heard somewhere in Orlando, Florida not too long ago. It
continued to grow and ring until it was forced to be heard. This was the
sound of five individuals creating something different, something that had
not been heard in such a way. Blending elements of contemporary hardcore, rock
and roll, and old school metal, Hand To Hand let go of the boundaries and
limitations their previous efforts had placed upon them, and played what was
in their collective, bright hearts. With vocals that range from singing to
screaming, the band disarms you with their melodic hooks, only then to knock
you down with brutal emotional breakdowns. But the band keeps growing, and
at a spectacular rate. In little over half a year, they have accomplished
what most unsigned artists take years to achieve.
When I heard this album the first thing I thought was that it compared to
Boy Sets Fire so when you like them you should check this out.
The album contains 10 songs. The songs have a lot of different rhythms. The
verses are very heavy with screaming vocals and the choruses are often calm
with a clean voice which I like because it makes the sound special. | |
The double bass adds even more to this special sound.
The downside of this album is that the songs sound too much alike. It makes you feel like you have
heard the tracks before.
I also don’t like the screaming vocals because they are too high pitched.
It would be better if it was a low screaming voice.
My conclusion A Perfect Way To Say Goodbye is a strong album with beautiful different
styles but the songs sound too much alike.
Hand To Hand will play on the first of May at the Staddijk with The Maple
Room.
