28 Hours was recorded after only seven practice sessions, probably of four hours each. The result is remarkable, especially considering that this is an independent release. The song writing as well as the sound of the album is very professional.

The music can be described as relaxed atmospheric pop rock in the vein of Coldplay and others. There is one major difference though. In stead of aiming for one specific mood, resulting in a fusion of instruments, the emphasis lies on diversity in mood as well as in melody with a leading role for the keyboards. The use of an organ is a rarity nowadays and puts City Beautiful far beyond most pop rock releases.

The mix of instruments is excellent and makes intensive listening a true pleasure.

The album features five tracks; four of them are close to perfect. The only track I’m not sure about is the second track, “Maria”. This is the only time where you get the feeling that City Beautiful should have taken more time to develop a track. The song has potential, but somehow it just doesn’t work. Despite this minor minus I’m convinced that City Beautiful has the potential to take this to the charts, with the right promotion that is.
