`Then All Was Silent` is the third release by progressive atmospheric rock band Metamorphosis. The concept of the album deals with a fictive story of cloned children destined to become killing machines. One of them, Kenny, turns out to be quite different from the other clones. The music is basically characterized by slow melodies combined with solid rhythms and an occasional break. As a reference I’d like to mention David Bowie in his Space Oddity years, yet far less experimental. | |
The only real adventurous element on the album is the solo guitar. As a matter of fact `Then All Was Silent` is a bit boring. If you’re into this kind of music you will surely be carried away by the dream scapes created by the brains of the band, Jean-Pierre Schenk. If you’re into more expressive music, `Then All Was Silent` will probably put you right to sleep. (Geert) |
