As one might expect from the fact that this fifth Metalium release is called The Fifth Chapter, the music on it doesn’t differ too much from its predecessor. All the characteristics of proper power metal are melted into fourteen solid songs; fast drumming, screaming guitars, heavy bass and choral vocals. Therefore it’s not hard to understand why this band is one of the top bands in the German power metal scene. For the fans of the band, you will probably agree that Chapter Five is yet another step in the development of the band.

Personally I regret that despite the progress the band makes, this doesn’t lead to evolution. Too many things sound a bit too familiar. This also becomes obvious in one of the band’s statements; never change a winning team. Fans will be delighted that the band has taken their music to a slightly higher level, but if you weren’t convinced by the band in the past, I doubt this fifth chapter will change your mind.
