Rage Of Creation, Rob Rock’s Y2K debut as a solo artist, was very well received among metal reviewers all over the world. Not so strange considering the vocal capacities of this American and the fact that he worked together with the musical genius Roy Z. Now, five years later Rock’s third solo effort is being released, this time on AFM Records. To be true not so much has changed over the last couple of years. The new album features nine excellent melodic metal tracks with solid drumming, great guitar riffing and not in the least powerful and warm singing.

The single speed feel good metal makes this album boasts of energy. As with Rage Of Creation there is only one single point of criticism, the horrible ballad “I’ll Be Waiting For You”. I know it’s very easy to bash a ballad on a metal release, but trust me, I personally prefer listening to a hundred nails scratching as many blackboards. Nevertheless the other nine tracks make up for this flaw. Holy Hell stands for good quality classic melodic metal worth checking out.
