Everybody knows that when you work hard, you can achieve a lot of things in life. Born From Pain is a great example of a band that worked hard and achieved a lot. A tour through Japan and The States, as well as gigs all over Europe and they recently signed a deal with Metal Blade Records. “In Love With The End” is the first Born From Pain release on this label.
“In Love With The End” starts with an old school Born From Pain song. If you are not familiar with this band, they play hardcore with some metal influences but the longer the album lasts the more you can hear some newer influences in the music. They use some longer intros and, in my opinion, some things are a bit overproduced. | |
In the song “The New Hate” you hear the vocals through some kind of megaphone. The last song on the album is totally different. “Hour Of The Wolf” is played at a slow tempo, it is not a typical metal or hardcore song but it sounds brutal in its own way.
The song “Renewal” features guest vocals by Jacob Bredahl from Hatesphere. He has a very nice sounding voice. The vocals of Born From Pain vocalist Chè Snelting are very brutal. His voice has developed a lot and sometimes he reminds me a bit like Jamey Jasta.
“In Love With The End” is a very good album. The band really deserved the Metal Blade deal and they are not afraid to do something new; mixed with the old sound. (Jeroen) |
