Someone said: lovers are strange, they always promise more than they can do, but always do even less than they can do.
This release really matches this definition of lover: what an intro it has! Fantastic, wonderful, amazing, thoughtful, original, bewitching, promising intro!!!!
But the continuation… is just frustrating after such a monumental intro. Energetic, cocky heavy metal of this happy quartet from Norway is blessed by simple and intelligible tunes and catchy riffs a la 80th hair metal (you can’t get it out of your mind for a whole day), a little too usual, too standard, with even punk motives and something in the veins of Kiss (heavier), Motörhead and Machine Head and Turbonegro.
And as such easy listening thing, it will definitely be the top of the bill somewhere at the summer stadium of fans. | |
It has everything to be nr.1! Moreover, it is said, they are a really well rehearsed band.
But emotional excitement and deep involvement is in agony here. Not that the musicians are not into what they are doing, absolutely not. Through all the six songs you just can feel them having fun. But sometimes it’s a little bit boring for the legible ear; and the guys look a little too tactical, a little more knowing a conjuncture to pretend that they have invented, added freshness or put some originality to the style.
Verdict: it’s fun! (though the CD has only 6 tracks). Wonderful thing for head banging! And, of course, it can be quick romance or flirtation, but for long time relations these guys need a little more deepness and authenticity. (Julie) |
