Limb Music Products seems to have a keen sense when it comes down to promising power metal acts and Eternal Reign is definitely no exception to this rule. In fact this sextet sounds pretty convincing, especially considering the fact that “Forbidden Path” is only their second release; so convincing that they managed to delude me for a good long time. Here I was of a firm belief that Eternal Reign hails from the United States, only to be proven completely wrong once I finally read the info leaflet. They are from Germany no less.
Admittedly that isn’t much of a surprise anymore either; Germany has a very blooming power metal scene with almost unlimited potential and Eternal Reign only underlines that. | |
Sure, the band plays traditional American power metal without any pretense of sounding original or refreshing. The thing is they just play it damn well. The compositions are great, the melodies are catchy, the vocals are good and there’s plenty of variety to keep you interested.
Eternal Reign is one more German power metal act that shows the scene is very much alive. This is one of those albums you can buy blindly if you dig power metal. These guys have talent and potential to get very far and “Forbidden Path” simply won’t let you down. (Frank) |
