Pscyhdelic Rock from Belgium. Belgium always has had an alternative pop scene with bands like dEUS, Soulwax etc, and hypnos 69 certainly is ‘alternative’.

Not alternative in the vein of any of the aforementioned bands, but more alternative in the writing of the songs. Hypnos 69 can be best described as a psychedelic space-jazz band. A sort of a mix between Motorpsycho, Brant Bjork and Pink Floyd but I can’t really compare Hypnos 69 with other bands. It is music on its own.

This is excellent trip music. Music you have to undergo. Every sound of the bass, every tuning of the guitar, it’s music where you take your coffee with, get some mushrooms and lie in some pillows, put the record on play and you go through different musical landscapes. Like the under-the-skin feel in ‘The Endless Void’ or the jazzy feeling in ‘Good Sinner – Bad Saint’.

I rather here this kind of original music than the 4000th copy of some emo/metalcore act.
