It all started out two years ago, when Pat Travers (Gamma) recorded a cover album filled with blues and rock classics. This album was followed by “The Endless Jam” on which Michael Schenker played guitars. Now the story continues and Mascot Records releases a cover album with the original title “The Endless Jam Continues”. A little bit strange title since there doesn’t appear to be so many jams on the album. Most of the songs follow the original versions very closely. | |
The vocals as well as the guitars are in most cases slightly rougher and less polished, giving the album a jam feel. I could even make it trough listening to the Clapton cover “Layla”! Other nice efforts are; “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” (everything but gently!), “I Don’t Need No Doctor” and “Dear Mr Fantasy”. All in all “The Endless Jam Continues” is not a bad album, for a cover album that is. (Geert) |
