The German band Aaskereia plays atmospheric black metal. The band kicked off in the winter of 1997. They had a bit of a slow start, since their first (and last) full length album “Mit Raben Und Wölfen” was released in 2003. In the years before, they produced only two demos and an EP. Recently, they’ve released a new mini CD (soon available on 10” EP) called “Zwischen Den Welten...”
The acoustic guitar adds a nice atmosphere to the music. That’s a positive thing. As for the rest: the music is boring and repetitive and sounds a lot like the last album (“Mit Raben und Wölfen”). | |
What irritates me a lot though are the clean vocals and the higher screams. The screams sound truly full of pain and misery. This adds to the atmosphere in the beginning, but after listening several minutes to them, it starts to be really annoying. The clean vocals aren’t really out of tune, but just don’t fit the music in my opinion. In short, if you can stand the vocals (opinions are very different on this), you might like Aaskereia. If not: trash can.
