This is one of those releases that really doesn’t impress me nor entices me to listen to it. I’m normally not a person to easily complain but what Dreamtale delivers on “Difference” is so standard, so cliché, so boring, that it pains me to listen to it. What we have here is your average Finnish power metal act that tries to walk the shadow of compatriot band Stratovarius and fails horribly.
Each and every song sounds like I have heard it a billion times before. The vocals are boring and inspirationless and the same goes for the pompous keyboards. The production of the album is very good and I’m certain that Dreamtale will appeal to people who are into Finnish power metal but unfortunately it is not nearly enough to convince me. | |
It’s simply too damn standard. I doubt this band will have any impact on an already terribly oversaturated power metal scene.
And if you’ve heard it all, Dreamtale truly doesn’t let you down with “Secret Door”. This has got to be one of the corniest songs I’ve heard in a very long time. My advice: steer clear of this release and save your money for something more interesting instead. (Frank) |
