Hell yeah, Bewitched are back again and they are ready as hell for the Rise of the Antichrist. Plunge into your closets to find that long-forgotten leatherjacket and those spikes, strap it all on (the more the better) and get ready for some ‘serious’ rock ‘n’ roll blackmetal. The hellcult, including members of Naglfar and Setherial, hails and honours the old black & thrash metal acts of the Eighties. I’m not sure how seriously this band take themselves but I cannot help listening to their fourth album with a big grin on my face and I guess that’s probably the way to look upon Rise of the Antichrist.

If you’re into Nocturnal Breed and similar acts you can safely raise you fists in the air and bang your head to ‘Hell’s Triumph’, The Ripper’s Return’ and ‘Rise of the Antichrist’. The rating is certainly not based on originality but Bewitched should be able to provide, when performed the proper way, a lot of entertainment on stage.
