The fact that I was checking the Brant Bjork tour dates during my listening session of man’s fifth album “Saved By Magic” is probably the best indication why this album was rated 9.5 out of 10 points. This double disc album could be best described as incredibly cool in a laid back ‘Lenny Kravitz on Rockin Park’-kind of way. I can’t write otherwise than that Bjork is an absolute genius, the way in which he develops seemingly simple songs into mind-blowing compositions is just unbelievable. At times the basis of the songs, whether it’s drums or guitar, is so simple that a child could have put it on paper.

The ‘less is bore’ principle is not in any way appropriate for Bjork though. Somehow every song stays interesting from beginning to the end, even without ever really lifting off. It might be just this teasing of the listener - building up to the never occurring climax that defines the true beauty of this album. Listen to a track like “Moda” and you will immediately understand why I sound so excited. A masterpiece!
