When you’re receiving tons of new CDs every month as an e-zine, you’re bound be stuck with leftovers, CDs no one volunteered to review. Usually these leftovers end up on my desk. This first compilation with Australian independent electro bands is one of such. The nice thing about receiving a non requested album is that you are bound to be surprised by it. Not knowing what to expect you either love or hate these albums, in the case of a compilation you actually get surprised with each different song.

This first edition of Australian Independent Electro features a broad collection of songs, some of which are rather inaccessible, others immediately catching on. I won’t bother you with the lows on the album (there are a one or two), I’ll confine in naming the most interesting bands on the compilation. The Bom, The Chrystalline Effect and Ikon (probably the most interesting band for rock fans) are the bands that made the deepest impression on me.
