For me appreciating a jam album is one thing but actually liking such an instrumental piece of work usually takes more than appreciation. Cosmic Farm, collaboration of Rob Wasserman, Craig Erickson, T. Lavitz and Jeff Sire, proves that it isn’t easy to bring jam music to a higher level; beyond appreciation. The songs on the album are cleverly written arrangements with an obvious progressive touch, keeping things interesting throughout the entire album - and more importantly keeping their effort far from the grey masses of jam releases that is currently flooding the market.

With exciting riffs combined with excellent rhythms and slightly jazzy but very uplifting melodies, like the in the excellent “Attitude Cat” (for once the track title makes sense!) and the delicate weeping “The Fine Scenery” Cosmic Farm succeed their intentions, making a significant musical statement. This is no doubt one of the best instrumental Mascot Releases of this year.
