A review of Marc Rizzo’s ‘Colossal Myopia’ doesn’t have to be long. This is an album for guitar maniacs. If this album would have been on LP I’d sure turn down the rotation speed from 33 to lets say 20 RPM to find something to enjoy on this album. Don’t get me wrong, I do feel some appreciation for musicians that obviously have so much control over their instrument that they can reach speeds no normal person can. This release has however hardly anything to do with music at all (the strange combination of metal, classical and flamingo isn’t helping the enjoyment of the album either, although the title track is quite ingenious). | |
You should consider ‘Colossal Myopia’ to be a practice cd that can even drive the more advanced guitar player mad. Four points for the music, eight points for the great skills resulting in an average of 6 out of 10 points. (Geert) |
